Laboratoire OptimHal-ProtecSom is a Norman research SME (Small and Medium-sized Businesses) which designs and manufactures in France medical devices for the lung deposition of medicine, asthma and allergy.
The company, which dedicates a third of its resources directly to research, expands in part through an assertive politic of partnership :
Partnerships for the distribution of its devices, currently available in 30 countries through a network of 15 exclusive partners.
Partnerships in research with several university teams from France, Canada and the United States.
Industrial partnerships, including Bosch’s Norman factory for the industrialization of our last electronic device.
Joint project from our multidisciplinary research team and those partners lead to several innovations and numerous patents, some co-owned with public research bodies such as INSERM or university laboratories in particular the University of Normandy or the François Rabelais university of Tours.
All devices presently marketed by ProtecSom-OptimHal benefited from these research efforts, were developed in France with ISO 13485:2016-certified processes and are manufactured under the same quality management system certifications.

Implanted in Valognes Normandy, OptimHal-Protecsom is also physically present in Canada as legal and/or commercial representation.

Creation of the company ProtecSom established to design and manufacturing of medical devices against allergies.
Marketing of the first anti-dust mite covers in Texaal® Cotton, textile weaved according to an exclusive process from ProtecSom. Filing of the corresponding patents.
ProtecSom obtains the exclusive distribution rights for Funhaler® in France and Belgium. ProtecSom apply for patents of Protexoderm®, skin protective device for atopic dermatitis.
Creation of SAS ProtecSom which absorbs the company ProtecSom. A number of investors joins the creators as shareholders to finance development programs for Protexoderm® and IthinHaler®.
Creation of sewing workshop for anti-dust mite covers in Valognes.
Launch of the first soft valved holding chamber made of medical silicone, ItinHaler®, which is also the first valved holding chamber from the ProtecSom research.
Launch of TipsHaler®, the first valved holding chamber designed and adapted for long-term treatments deposition and in particular inhaled corticosteroids.
Creation of ProtecSom North America near Montreal.
Launch of CombiHaler®, inhalation chamber for mechanical ventilation circuits. Designed to allow the simultaneous use of a metered-dose inhaler and a membrane nebulizer, it optimizes the pulmonary deposition of aerosols.
Creation of assembly workshops for spacers and research center in Valognes.
ProtecSom devices are distributed worldwide, in more than 25 countries in Europe, Africa, North America and Asia.
Launch of OrHal® mask, the first partitioned inhalation mask.
ProtecSom SAS becomes ProtecSom-OptimHal SAS.
Laboratoire OptimHal-ProtecSom® is a French designer and manufacturer of medical devices certified ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 including the design and manufacture of dust mite covers and medical devices.
